Index view
Large SPX, NDX, VIX, XSP and RUT option prints on their own tape, with spreads grouped, no net premium, and never mixed into stock and ETF totals.
Index options (SPX, NDX, VIX, XSP, RUT and their weekly and mini roots) have their own tape on Option Flow. They're kept apart from All flow and from every total, because index prints are captured differently from stock and ETF prints.
The Index view with grouped spreads, spread legs and late reports
Open it#
- On Option Flow, open Views and choose Index under Index options.
- Or search an index ticker such as SPX. The tape switches to the Index view and tells you why. Back to All flow returns you.
What's captured#
- Large prints only, about $100K and up in premium. The coverage line reads "Index · large prints only (about $100K+)".
- Volume: roughly 70 prints a day. They usually start within the first half hour.
- Hours: index options trade until 4:15 PM ET, after stock options close at 4:00 PM.
The table#
The Index view has fixed columns: Time, Ticker, Strike, C/P, Expiry, DTE, Trade, Size @ fill, Premium and Flags. There's no Columns button here.
Trade combines type and side, for example "Sweep · Above ask" or "Single · No side".
Grouped spreads:
- Legs that traded together show as one row, such as "Spread · 2 legs".
- Expand the row to see each leg.
- A leg whose partner wasn't captured reads "Spread leg".
Flags: Golden, Aggressive, Unusual and Reported late. Repeat isn't used here.
No net premium#
Most large index prints are spread legs, and a spread leg has no clean buy or sell side. So the Index view doesn't show a net.
- Toolbar: calls and puts, with no Bullish %.
- Ticker panel: Spread share in place of net, plus a How it traded card.
- Contract drill-down: no net premium.
Never in stock totals#
Index prints are never added to the market totals on Option Flow, Stats or Snapshot. Those totals cover equity and ETF options.
What's not here#
- Row alerts aren't available in the Index view.
- The Index view isn't in the Hub tile.
