How we researchand correct our content.
This page explains who writes Trade Echo's content, how we research the products we compare ourselves against, where our commercial interest lies, and what happens when we get something wrong.
How content is created.
Content on tradeecho.com is written by the Trade Echo team — the same people who build and operate the platform. We do not outsource educational articles to content farms, and we do not publish AI-generated filler to chase keywords. When a page explains how gamma exposure works or how our heatmap updates, it is grounded in the production system and the code that actually runs it.
Educational content about our own analytics follows a single documented definition set. If a page on this site says "Flip Point" or "GEX Rating," it means exactly what our gamma exposure methodology says it means — the methodology page is written from the production calculation code and is the reference every other page defers to.
Nothing we publish is financial advice. Our content explains market mechanics and our tools; it does not recommend trades, securities, or strategies for your situation. See our risk disclosure for the full statement.
How product comparisons are researched.
When we compare our tools against competitors — as in our comparison of GEX tools — the research follows a fixed set of rules:
- Public sources only.Competitor facts come from the vendor's own public pricing and product pages, not from hearsay, forum posts, or secondhand reviews. Where a third-party source is the only one available, the page says so explicitly.
- Verification dates on the page. Every comparison carries a visible date stating when competitor information was last verified, so you know exactly how fresh the facts are.
- Competitor strengths stated plainly. A comparison that pretends rivals have no strengths is advertising, not research. Where a competitor does something well — deeper institutional research, a larger community, a capability we do not offer — the page says so in plain language.
- "Verify before purchasing" on every comparison.Prices and features change without notice. Every comparison page tells you to check the vendor's current pricing yourself before buying anything — including from us.
Our commercial interest.
We sell some of the products we review
Trade Echo develops DealerEdge and the other tools that appear in our comparisons alongside competitor products. That is a commercial interest, and we would rather state it than have you discover it. Every comparison page discloses this at the top — before the first table, not buried in a footer.
What the disclosure does not change: the factual claims about competitors still have to meet the sourcing rules above, competitor strengths still get stated, and anything we cannot verify still gets labeled rather than asserted. You should read our comparisons knowing who wrote them — and be able to check every factual claim against the vendor's own site.
How competitor pricing is verified.
Competitor prices in our comparisons are checked directly on the vendor's own website, in a real browser, on the date stamped on the page. We do not copy prices from other review sites or from cached search results.
Some facts cannot be verified this way — several vendors do not publish pricing publicly, or gate it behind signup. When that happens, the comparison says "not published" instead of guessing or repeating an unverifiable number as fact. A labeled gap is honest; an asserted guess is not.
Each comparison carries a last-verified date, and competitor facts are re-verified when the page is updated. If a price on one of our pages disagrees with what a vendor's site shows today, the vendor's site is right and ours is stale — and we want to know about it (see the next section).
How errors are corrected.
If you find a factual error anywhere on this site — a stale price, a wrong competitor claim, a methodology statement that no longer matches what ships in production — email chris@tradeecho.com. We will verify the claim against the source and correct the page.
How corrections work:
- Corrections are applied to the page itself — the incorrect fact is fixed where it lives, not addressed in a separate note that most readers would never see.
- The updated date moves. When a page is corrected, its last-updated or last-verified date is bumped so the change is visible.
- Material errors are acknowledged in place. If an error was significant enough to have changed a reader's conclusion, the corrected page says what changed rather than silently rewriting history.
Performance content.
Trade Echo publishes member trading results, including on our wins wall. Here is exactly what those are and are not:
- Member results are user-submitted. They are individual outcomes shared by individual members, not audited account statements produced by us.
- They are individual, not typical.A posted win is one member's result on one trade. It says nothing about the average member's experience, and we do not present it as if it does.
- Nothing is guaranteed. No result shown anywhere on this site is a promise of future performance. Past performance does not predict future results, and options trading carries substantial risk of loss.
These statements are the short version of our risk disclosure, which governs all performance-related content on the site.
See the policy applied.
The clearest proof of an editorial policy is the pages it produced: our GEX methodology documents our own math, edges included, and our GEX tools comparison applies every sourcing and disclosure rule on this page.
