Off-exchange.On the tape.

Darkpool streams off-exchange prints from every U.S. ATS venue, bins them into transparent price levels, and tiers each one as Hero, Magnet, Support, or Resistance. The block — before the rotation.

03 /The Darkpool Lexicon

Four terms. One vocabulary.

Hero, Magnet, Support, Resistance. Cortex narrates dark prints using these terms; the dashboard renders them with the same colors and weights. One word per concept, no glossary required.

HeroTop tier

The single highest-premium bucket in the window. The print everyone else is fading or following — rendered with a violet glow and 700 weight.

$NVDA $894$391M · 46%
MagnetLiquidity pull

The largest premium cluster sitting >0.5% away from spot. Institutional liquidity pulling price toward it — rendered with the gold accent.

$NVDA $898$148M · +0.44%
SupportBelow spot

The closest premium-tier level below spot. Where the desk has reason to defend on weakness; first place to lean on a flush.

$NVDA $890$118M · −0.46%
ResistanceAbove spot

The closest premium-tier level above spot. Where the desk has reason to sell into strength; first place sellers re-emerge.

$NVDA $896$96M · +0.21%
These four terms are the Darkpool half of the Trade Echo Lexicon. Cortex narrates dark prints with the same vocabulary — Anchor and Cortex Wall sit on the options side; Hero and Magnet sit on the tape side.
04 /Price bucketing

Raw prints become tradeable levels.

Every print is binned into a transparent price bucket at ingest. The bucket aggregates total notional, print count, and timestamp — that's what powers the leaderboard, the donut, the chart overlays, and the key-levels table.

No raw-tape spam. Every bucket is a real piece of liquidity, sized by notional, ranked by recency, tiered by the Lexicon.

05 /Cross-window switching

Three windows. One screen.

The chart, the levels, the leaderboard — they all switch when you switch the window. Walk the whole session, the last hour, or the last fifteen minutes.

Every aggregation recomputes instantlywhen you switch the window. The Hero on the day isn't always the Hero in the last fifteen minutes — that's the point.

06 /Live + delayed

Two sources. Both on the tape.

The live feed is for intraday signal. FINRA's official weekly aggregates are for trend and compliance reference. Cortex exposes both and tells you when the data is stale.

Live Darkpool feed
Sub-minute · per-print

Off-exchange prints from U.S. ATS venues, ingested as they hit the SIP tape. 45-second auto-refresh during market hours. Full per-print enrichment.

  • Ticker, price, size, premium, venue, TRF, tape, SIP conditions
  • Volume context — % of today's volume and 30-day average

  • Bucketed into Hero / Magnet / Support / Resistance at ingest

FINRA ATS volume
Delayed · 1–2 weeks

The official FINRA weekly ATS aggregates by venue. Delayed 1–2 weeks. Used for trend, compliance reference, and Cortex agent ground truth.

  • Per-venue weekly share volume
  • Multi-week trend across all reporting ATS
  • The honest reference dataset — not real-time
  • Cortex names the lag when it serves this data
Cortex toolget_finra_ats_volume

Cortex exposes both as tools — get_dark_pool_data for the live feed and get_finra_ats_volume for the delayed weekly. The agent knows the difference and tells you when the data is stale.

09 /The moat, plainly

The print is the floor. The dashboard is the moat.

Dark-pool feeds on their own are commoditized. Trade Echo aggregates every print into a per-ticker map, names every level, and lets a Cortex agent narrate the whole thing.

10 /Questions

Quick answers.

01What is Darkpool?
Darkpool ingests off-exchange prints from U.S. ATS venues as they hit the SIP tape, then exposes them through two modes: Flow is the live per-print stream — Time, Ticker, Price, Size, Premium, Exchange, TRF, Tape, Conditions. Snapshot is the per-ticker dashboard — a leaderboard, a premium-distribution donut, a candlestick chart with level overlays, and a key-levels table. Every level is named Hero / Magnet / Support / Resistance.
02What's the difference between Flow and Snapshot?
Flow is the live tape — a 9-column print stream, filtered by notional tabs ($50M / $100M / $300M / All), with ticker search and 45-second auto-refresh. Snapshot is the same data aggregated by ticker into a 2×2 dashboard: leaderboard, donut, chart with level overlays, key-levels table. Snapshot has a Today / 1h / 15m window switcher; every aggregation recomputes instantly.
03What are Hero, Magnet, Support, Resistance?
The four-term Darkpool Lexicon:
  • Hero — the single highest-premium bucket in the window. Rendered with the violet glow.
  • Magnet — the largest premium cluster more than 0.5% away from spot. Gold-accented.
  • Support — the closest premium-tier level below spot.
  • Resistance — the closest premium-tier level above spot.
The same vocabulary flows through Cortex when it narrates dark prints.
04What's the price bucketing — and why?
Every print is binned into a price bucket at ingest. $SPY / $QQQ use $0.50 buckets, price ≥ $100 uses $1.00 buckets, price < $100uses $0.10 buckets. Each bucket aggregates total notional, print count, total size, and the latest timestamp. That's what powers the leaderboard, the donut, the chart overlays, and the key-levels table — no raw-tape spam, every bucket a real piece of liquidity.
05What's the difference between the live feed and FINRA ATS data?
The live feed is per-print, sub-minute, refreshed every 45 seconds during market hours — the intraday signal. FINRA ATS is the official weekly per-venue aggregate, delayed 1–2 weeks — the trend and compliance reference. Cortex chat exposes both as separate tools (get_dark_pool_data for live, get_finra_ats_volume for delayed) and names the lag when it returns FINRA data.
06Is Darkpool on mobile?
Yes. Same feed, card-stream layoutinstead of a table, pull-to-refresh, infinite scroll, and Excel export via the iOS share sheet. The Snapshot dashboard's chart popup is desktop-only — the rest of Snapshot mode renders fine on mobile. iOS and Android.
