DealerEdgeis one of the products compared below. Competitor details come from each vendor's public pricing and product pages and should be checked before you buy. Where a vendor does not publish a fact, we say "not published" rather than guess.

Verified September 24, 2026

Gamma exposure tells you how dealer hedging reacts when price moves. Vanna exposure (VEX) tells you how it reacts when implied volatility moves. Around events like CPI, FOMC or earnings, implied vol can change faster than price, and the re-hedging that follows can move the underlying on its own. That is why traders who already watch GEX start looking for vanna.

Most tools that advertise vanna fall into three groups: those that chart vanna exposure by strike and expiration, those with a single model chart or daily profile, and those that only discuss it in commentary. For the concept itself, read Vanna vs. Gamma.

01 /The field

How we compared

We checked each vendor's own product, pricing and support pages on September 24, 2026, looking for four things: whether vanna is shown per strike, whether it can be split by expiration, whether charm is shown too, and what plan it takes. A vendor that mentions vanna only in blog posts or commentary is marked that way rather than counted as a vanna tool.

Absolute vanna numbers are not comparable across platforms. Vendors use different strike windows, expiration windows, weights and units. Compare where exposure concentrates and how it changes, not the raw size. How DealerEdge builds its VEX lens is documented in the VEX methodology.

03 /The platforms

Platform by platform.

Best for GEX, vanna and charm side by side

Trade Echo DealerEdgefrom $199/mo

DealerEdge has four lenses on one strike-by-expiration heatmap: GEX, Volatility, VEX (vanna exposure) and Charm. VEX is built from the same live options chain, sign convention and open-interest weighting as GEX, so you can flip between them without the grid moving. The heatmap can show every expiration, only the next one, or monthlies, and the lenses work on every DealerEdge ticker, on the web and in the native iOS and Android apps.

It is part of the full Trade Echo plan, so vanna sits next to options flow, dark pool, Discovery and Cortex AI. The full build is documented in the VEX methodology.

Best at: switching between gamma, vanna and charm on the same live grid, on any ticker, including on your phone.

Trade-offs: VEX is a profile only: DealerEdge does not derive a vanna level or send vanna alerts, and the GEX Rating uses gamma alone. Like every vendor's VEX, magnitudes are relative to our own charts.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): $199/mo, $2,199/yr or $3,499 lifetime, every module included.

Pick Trade Echo DealerEdge if you want vanna and charm next to GEX without paying for a separate specialist tool. See also our comparison of GEX tools.

Best for Heatseeker users

Skylit Heatseeker$699/mo

Heatseeker's heatmap has a GEX/VEX switch across strike and expiration nodes, and on Skylit Pro it covers 3,500+ tickers. Skylit's cheaper Initiate plan limits Heatseeker to the index complex, and its pages do not say whether VEX is included there.

Best at: a polished GEX and VEX heatmap across a large ticker list.

Trade-offs: full coverage costs $699/mo, charm is not listed, and there is no native iOS or Android app.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): Pro $699/mo or $7,500/yr; Initiate $299/mo for index symbols.

Pick Skylit Heatseeker if you already trade from Heatseeker and want vanna on the same map. See Trade Echo vs Heatseeker.

Best value for all four exposure Greeks

Quant Data$74.99/mo

Quant Data publishes gamma, delta, vanna and charm exposure across strikes and expirations, with a VEX/CHEX heatmap, alongside its flow feed and native mobile apps.

Best at: covering every exposure Greek for well under $100 a month.

Trade-offs: its update cadence is not stated and reviewers note a learning curve.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): $74.99/mo or $62.50/mo billed annually.

Pick Quant Data if price matters most and you want vanna and charm in one app.

Best for vanna inside a flow platform

Unusual Whalesfrom $50/mo

Unusual Whales has a greek exposure page covering GEX, DEX, vanna and charm, with a strike-by-DTE heatmap and intraday views.

Best at: vanna and charm as part of a large flow and data catalog.

Trade-offs: which plan unlocks the vanna view is not spelled out on the pricing page.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): Paid plans from $50/mo; free data is delayed.

Pick Unusual Whales if you already live in Unusual Whales for flow.

Best for analyst interpretation

SpotGammafrom $299/mo

SpotGamma's Vanna Model charts dealer delta against price with and without an implied-vol shift for the major indices, and TRACE adds a charm pressure heatmap for the S&P 500. It is paired with daily analyst commentary.

Best at: expert commentary on vol and dealer positioning for index traders.

Trade-offs: no per-strike vanna exposure view, index coverage only for the Vanna Model, and the plan for that model is not published.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): Alpha $299/mo for TRACE; SpotGamma was running an annual-plan promotion when checked.

Pick SpotGamma if you want interpretation more than raw data. See Trade Echo vs SpotGamma.

Lowest price for a vanna heatmap

BullFlow$69/mo

BullFlow's Premium plan adds vanna exposure across strikes and expirations as a heatmap, next to its flow feed and GEX replay.

Best at: the cheapest vanna heatmap we found.

Trade-offs: charm and coverage details are not published.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): Premium $69/mo; Basic ($39/mo) does not include it.

Pick BullFlow if you want to try vanna without a big commitment.

Best for SPX specialists

VolSignals VS3DNot published

VolSignals' VS3D plots gamma, charm and vanna as a gradient chart over price for SPX and VIX, a view built by and for index volatility traders.

Best at: a deep, vol-desk style look at SPX positioning.

Trade-offs: SPX and VIX only, and pricing is not published (there is a 7-day trial).

Pricing (September 24, 2026): VS3D pricing not published; VS Pro commentary is $300/mo.

Pick VolSignals VS3D if you trade SPX exclusively and want a specialist view.

Best for a daily vanna reference

MenthorQfrom $129/mo

MenthorQ's daily report includes a cumulative Vanna Profile by strike, alongside its levels and wide charting-platform integrations.

Best at: a once-a-day vanna reference for futures and index traders.

Trade-offs: the profile is static and daily, and which plan includes it is not published.

Pricing (September 24, 2026): Premium $129/mo; Pro $349/mo.

Pick MenthorQ if you trade from NinjaTrader or TradingView and want a daily vanna map.

04 /FAQ

Common questions

What is vanna exposure (VEX)?

Vanna measures how an option's delta changes when implied volatility changes. Vanna exposure adds that up across the options chain to estimate how much dealers would need to re-hedge if implied vol moved. It is the volatility counterpart of gamma exposure, which tracks re-hedging when price moves. See Vanna vs. Gamma.

Does Trade Echo show vanna exposure?

Yes. DealerEdge has a VEX lens on the same strike-by-expiration heatmap as GEX, for every DealerEdge ticker, on web and the iOS and Android apps. How it is built is documented in the VEX methodology.

Why does vanna matter around events?

Implied volatility often rises into an event and drops right after it. When implied vol moves that much, dealers' deltas change even if price has not, and the hedging that follows can move the underlying. Vanna exposure shows which strikes concentrate that effect.

What is the difference between vanna and charm?

Vanna is delta's sensitivity to implied volatility; charm is delta's sensitivity to the passage of time. Charm matters most close to expiration and late in the session, vanna matters most when implied vol moves sharply. DealerEdge shows both as separate lenses; see The Charm Lens.

Can I compare VEX numbers across platforms?

Not directly. Each vendor uses its own strike and expiration windows, weights and units, so the same chain produces different magnitudes. Compare where exposure concentrates and how it shifts, not the raw numbers.
