SETUPS LIBRARY /Named setup

FlipReclaim.

A name rated 1-2, already in negative gamma, is pressing its GEX Flip Point from either side. The Flip is the one level that would change its regime, so that is the level the setup is about.

01 /The trigger

What triggers it

Named setup

  • The name has a GEX Rating of 1 or 2.
  • Price is close to the GEX Flip Point, either just below it or just above it after a recent cross.
  • On the Discovery GEX Setups tab the row is labeled Flip Reclaim, and its distance column measures distance to the Flip, not the Anchor.
02 /Regime

Regime context

  • The GEX Rating is a 1-5 volatility regime score, not a directional one.
  • At Rating 1-2 (negative gamma, more volatile), dealer hedging amplifies moves in both directions and most levels are tested rather than respected.
  • The Flip is the boundary between the amplifying regime and the damping one. A volatile name pressing its Flip is a name testing which regime it belongs to.

03 /Invalidation

When it stops

  • Price moves away from the Flip in either direction and leaves the zone.
  • The GEX Rating moves out of the 1-2 band. A Rating 3 name at its Flip becomes At Gamma Flip, and a Rating 4-5 name is judged against its Anchor.
  • If price actually crosses the Flip, that is a separate event: the Flip Cross alert covers it.

06 /Workflow

How to use it

  1. Find it. Open the GEX Setups tab in Discovery and look for Flip Reclaim rows.
  2. Confirm the regime. Check that the GEX Rating is 1 or 2, and expect wider, faster moves than on a Rating 4-5 name.
  3. Watch the Flip. Keep the Flip Cross alert on so you hear about it if price actually crosses the level, and watch whether price holds on its new side.
  4. Make your own plan. Size for the regime and decide entry and exit with your own confirmation. The setup names the level that matters, not the direction.
08 /FAQ

Common questions

Does Flip Reclaim mean the stock is about to recover?

No. It means a volatile name is close to the level that separates the amplifying regime from the damping one. Whether price crosses and holds is not something the setup predicts.

Why is Flip Reclaim limited to Rating 1-2 names?

In negative gamma most levels are tested rather than respected, and the Flip is the one level that would change the regime. For Rating 4-5 names the Anchor is the governing level instead, and Rating 3 names at the Flip get their own label, At Gamma Flip.

Not financial advice. Setups describe dealer positioning and market structure, not predictions, and a setup appearing does not mean price will move in any direction.
