At GammaFlip.
A name rated 3, the transitional band, is sitting at its GEX Flip Point. It is on the boundary between regimes, in the regime that is already undecided.
What triggers it
Named setup
- The name has a GEX Rating of exactly 3.
- Price is at or very close to the GEX Flip Point.
- On the Discovery GEX Setups tab the row is labeled At Gamma Flip, and its distance column measures distance to the Flip.
Regime context
- The GEX Rating is a 1-5 volatility regime score, not a directional one.
- Rating 3 is transitional: dealer gamma is roughly balanced, so neither the damping of Rating 4-5 nor the amplification of Rating 1-2 is clearly in charge.
- A Rating 3 name at its Flip is on the line that decides which of those regimes comes next. That is a different situation from a volatile name pressing its Flip, so it has its own label.

When it stops
- Price moves away from the Flip.
- The GEX Rating moves off 3. At 1-2 the name can qualify as Flip Reclaim instead, and at 4-5 it is judged against its Anchor.
- If price crosses the Flip, the Flip Cross alert covers that event.

How to use it
- Find it. Open the GEX Setups tab in Discovery and look for At Gamma Flip rows.
- Treat it as undecided. Rating 3 means the structure is exerting little mechanical influence either way, so expect less help from the gamma map than at the extremes.
- Watch for resolution. Keep the Flip Cross alert on and watch whether the GEX Rating moves toward 4-5 or 1-2 as the session develops.
- Make your own plan. Decide entry, size and exit with your own confirmation. The setup tells you where the regime boundary is, not which side wins.

Common questions
Why does At Gamma Flip only apply to Rating 3?
At Rating 4-5 the Anchor is the governing level, and at Rating 1-2 a name at its Flip is labeled Flip Reclaim. Rating 3 is the balanced band, so a name at its Flip there is a distinct situation with its own label.
Is At Gamma Flip a signal to trade the breakout?
No. It marks a name sitting on the regime boundary while the regime itself is undecided. It says nothing about which side price will choose.

Not financial advice. Setups describe dealer positioning and market structure, not predictions, and a setup appearing does not mean price will move in any direction.
