Clear Pathto Anchor.
Price is on the positive gamma side of the Flip, the GEX Anchor is within reach, and nothing sits in between: no Defense Line and little traded volume on the strikes along the way. It is an opt-in GEX alert about the path, not the arrival.
What triggers it
Named setup
- Price is above the GEX Flip Point, on the positive gamma side.
- The GEX Anchor is within reach: close, but price is not already at it. The setup is about the path to the Anchor; the arrival is Anchor Approach territory.
- No Defense Line sits between price and the Anchor.
- Traded volume on the strikes between price and the Anchor is light compared with the rest of the options chain.
- All four must be true on the same fresh real-time gamma snapshot. It works whether the Anchor is above or below price.
Regime context
- The Flip separates positive and negative gamma. Above it, dealer hedging tends to damp moves, which is why the Anchor acts like a magnet in that regime. Requiring price above the Flip keeps the setup on that side.
- The GEX Rating is a 1-5 volatility regime score and never a directional call. Clear Path to Anchor is most at home when the rating shows a calmer, positive gamma regime.
- When the rating shows a more volatile regime, levels hold less reliably, so treat the same structure with more caution.

When it stops
- Price crosses below the Flip. The name has left the positive gamma side, and the Flip Cross alert covers that event.
- A Defense Line appears between price and the Anchor, or volume builds on the strikes along the path. The path is no longer clear.
- Price reaches the Anchor, which is Anchor Approach territory, or drifts well away from it.
- Once it fires, it stays quiet while the setup persists. It can fire again only after the setup has clearly broken (price falls back below the Flip, moves well away from the Anchor, or reaches it) and then forms again, and a per-ticker cooldown you control in alert settings applies on top.
Where it shows up
- DealerEdge GEX alertsPush on iOS and Android, optional DiscordAn opt-in GEX alert trigger, off by default. Turn it on in DealerEdge alert settings on the web or in the mobile app. It arrives as a push and in-app alert titled with the ticker and Clear Path to Anchor, and optionally in Discord. It is not a Discovery row.
- DealerEdgeWeb and mobileThe Anchor, Flip and Defense Lines the setup is built from are on the DealerEdge chart, so you can check the path yourself when an alert arrives.
How to use it
- Turn it on. Clear Path to Anchor is off by default. Switch it on in your DealerEdge GEX alert settings on the web or in the mobile app, and choose watchlist, a custom list or all covered tickers as the source.
- Confirm on the chart. When it fires, open the ticker in DealerEdge and find where price sits relative to the Anchor.
- Check the Flip and Defense Lines. Confirm price is still above the Flip and that no Defense Line now sits between price and the Anchor. Note the GEX Rating as well: it tells you how the name tends to move, not which way.
- Make your own plan. Decide entry, size and exit with your own confirmation, such as flow and price action. The alert is information about positioning, not a trade instruction.

Common questions
How is Clear Path to Anchor different from Anchor Approach?
Anchor Approach is about arrival: price is already near the Anchor. Clear Path to Anchor is about the stretch before that: price above the Flip, the Anchor within reach, and nothing in the way. Once price reaches the Anchor, Clear Path to Anchor stops and Anchor Approach takes over.
Does Clear Path to Anchor tell me which way price will go?
No. It describes positioning: an open path between price and the Anchor on the positive gamma side, with the Anchor either above or below price. It does not predict that price will travel that path. Direction still comes from flow, catalysts and price action.
Why is it off by default, and which tickers does it check?
It is an opt-in trigger, so you decide whether you want this extra heads-up next to the default GEX alerts. Once it is on, it only checks the tickers in the alert ticker source you pick in DealerEdge alert settings: your watchlist, a custom list, or all covered tickers.
What cancels a Clear Path to Anchor?
Price crossing below the Flip, a Defense Line appearing between price and the Anchor, volume building on the path, price reaching the Anchor, or price drifting away. After it fires it stays quiet while the setup holds, and it can fire again only after the setup has clearly broken and formed again.

Not financial advice. Setups describe dealer positioning and market structure, not predictions, and a setup appearing does not mean price will move in any direction.
