Trade Echoin Grok.
Add Trade Echo as a custom MCP connector on grok.com or in the native Grok Bot, sign in once with OAuth, and ask Grok about live options flow, dealer gamma levels and dark pool prints. Paid members can also turn on Trading (in beta) to place orders and create Cortex trade plans, and nothing is sent or armed without your approval.
https://api.tradeecho.com/api/mcp/intelConnect Grok
Sign-in: OAuth on grok.com and in Grok Bot. The Grok CLI uses a personal access token instead.
Check your membership
A paid Trade Echo membership gets every tool. A free Trade Echo account can also connect when the app signs in to Trade Echo (no personal access token), for the Daily Echo Brief and SPY and QQQ morning levels, 3 briefs a day. To get more, pick a plan at tradeecho.com/pricing.
Add a custom MCP connector
On grok.com, add a custom MCP connector, name it Trade Echo and paste the server URL below. Custom connectors depend on your Grok plan; if you do not see the option, check your Grok settings or plan.
https://api.tradeecho.com/api/mcp/intelConnect
Click Connect on the new Trade Echo connector. Grok shows a Trade Echo sign-in link.
Approve on Trade Echo
Follow the sign-in link to Trade Echo and sign in with the email on your membership. Review the scopes requested, leave My Account unchecked unless you want this assistant to read your journal, copy trading status and broker holdings, leave Trading unchecked unless you want it to place orders and create trade plans (in beta on every paid plan; Monthly and Yearly trade on their active Copy Trading account, Lifetime picks the accounts), accept the MCP terms, then click Allow.
Ask Grok
Back in Grok, ask a question, for example: Using Trade Echo, show me the most noteworthy options flow on NVDA today.
Turn on Trading (beta, optional)
Any paid member can let Grok place orders and create Cortex trade plans. Trading and trade plans are in beta. If you did not turn on Trading when you connected, open Agent MCP (Agent Connections) in the Trade Echo web app, find this connection and click Turn on trading. Monthly and Yearly members trade on their active Copy Trading account (change it in Copy Trading); Lifetime members pick the accounts it can use. Set an optional dollar cap on each buy, leave Confirm each order in Trade Echo on (the default), accept the trading terms and click Turn trading on. You can also do this from AI connections in the mobile app. Start a new chat so Grok sees the trading tools, then try a prompt marked Needs Trading below. Every order waits for your yes in the chat and, by default, your confirmation in Trade Echo. Every trade plan waits for your approval in Trade Echo. Orders are real orders with real money.
Prompts to try
Check the connection first. Send Grok this message. It should list tools such as get_option_flow and get_dealer_edge_data.
List the Trade Echo tools you can use right now. Then try any of these. Each is built around one tool, shown with its credit cost. Your assistant may call more than one tool to answer.
Prompts marked Needs Trading work on any paid plan (Trading is in beta), only on a connection where you turned on Trading. The assistant should show you a preview and wait for your yes before it places anything. By default you also confirm each order in Trade Echo (a push opens the confirm screen) before it goes to your broker, and an unconfirmed order expires unsent after 5 minutes. You can turn this off per connection for automations you trust. A trade plan always waits for your approval in Trade Echo. Orders placed through an assistant are real orders with real money. You are responsible for every order you approve.
Using Trade Echo, what are the key dealer gamma levels on SPY today? Include the flip, the anchor and any defense lines.
Show me the most noteworthy options flow on NVDA today and explain what stands out.
Which large dark pool prints hit TSLA today, and at what prices?
Run a Trade Echo multi-signal scan on QQQ and tell me where flow, dealer levels and dark pool agree.
What US macro events are coming up this week, and which ones are high impact?
What does the Futures Echo Map show for ES in the overnight session?
List today's ES key levels: VWAP bands, overnight high and low, value area and gamma walls.
Summarize my copy trading status: which traders I follow and any open positions.
Preview a limit order to buy 1 SPY call at the strike nearest the current price, expiring Friday, then wait for my yes.
What is the status of the order you just placed?
Cancel the SPY order you placed for me if it has not filled yet.
Preview a trade plan: buy 2 SPY calls at the strike nearest the current price when price is above the gamma flip, limit $2.50, stop 40 percent, sell 50 percent of the original position at +40 percent, target 80 percent, valid until Friday. Wait for my yes.
Other ways to connect
Grok Bot
The native Grok Bot uses the same OAuth sign-in as grok.com. Ask Grok Bot to connect Trade Echo MCP, or add a custom MCP connector with the URL below, click Connect, follow the sign-in link and click Allow. We recommend signing in with OAuth.
https://api.tradeecho.com/api/mcp/intelGrok CLI
The Grok CLI uses a personal access token. Create one on Agent Connections and run:
grok mcp add --transport http trade-echo https://api.tradeecho.com/api/mcp/intel \
--header "Authorization: Bearer te_live_YOUR_TOKEN"Replace te_live_YOUR_TOKEN with a token from Agent Connections. Never commit it or paste it into a chat.
Good to know
- The connection appears on Agent Connections as type oauth. Revoke it there at any time and Grok loses access immediately.
- On the free plan, grok.com and Grok Bot get two tools: the Daily Echo Brief and SPY and QQQ morning levels, 3 briefs a day, reset at 12:00 AM ET. GEX Rating in the brief describes the volatility regime, not market direction. The Grok CLI uses a personal access token, which needs a paid plan.
- Your Grok login and your Trade Echo login do not need to use the same email.
- Grok reads tool results inside your conversation. What xAI does with that conversation is covered by xAI's own terms and privacy policy.
- Market data and My Account tools are read-only. Paid members can turn on Trading (in beta) for a connection; the assistant can then place orders only in the accounts that connection can use (your active Copy Trading account on Monthly and Yearly, the accounts you choose on Lifetime) and only after you say yes in the chat. Orders placed through an assistant are real orders with real money. You are responsible for every order you approve. See the trading terms.
- See every tool your assistant can call in the MCP tool reference, and the rules of use in the MCP terms.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| 401 Unauthorized | The token is missing or mistyped, or the OAuth sign-in was never finished (you saw Connect but did not click Allow). For tokens, check the header reads Authorization: Bearer te_live_... |
| 403 revoked | The connection was revoked on Agent Connections. Connect again (OAuth) or create a new token. |
| 403 subscription_inactive | Your Trade Echo membership is not active, or you signed in with a different email. Renew at tradeecho.com/pricing and the same connection works again. |
| Credit limit reached (429) | You used this hour's credit budget. Wait for the hourly reset or add a bonus credit pack on Agent Connections. |
| Account tools are missing | Journal, copy trading and holdings tools only appear with My Account. Reconnect and check My Account on the consent screen, or create a token with the My Account switch on. |
| Trading tools are missing | Trading (in beta) is on every paid plan, and its tools only appear on a connection where you turned on Trading. Click Turn on trading (or Turn trading back on) for that connection on Agent MCP (Agent Connections), or use AI connections in the mobile app, then start a new chat so the assistant sees the trading tools. |
