> Add a passkey to sign in to Trade Echo with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device's screen lock, and manage or remove passkeys.

A **passkey** lets you sign in with your device's screen lock (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a PIN) instead of typing a password. It works on app.tradeecho.com, tradeecho.com and the iPhone app.

You can add a passkey however you sign in today: Google, Apple, or email and password. A passkey is added alongside your other sign-in methods. It doesn't replace your password.

## Add a passkey

**Web:**

1. Sign in, then open **Profile**.
2. Under **Account**, choose **Security**.
3. Click **Add a passkey** and follow your browser's prompt.

**iPhone app:**

- Open **Profile**, then **Account**, then **Security**, and tap **Passkeys**.
- Or, right after you sign in, the app may offer **Create a passkey**. Tap **Not now** to skip it. You can always add one later from Profile.

**To add or remove a passkey**, you need to have signed in, or confirmed it's you, within the last 5 minutes. If it's been longer, you'll see a **Confirm it's you** step first.

## Sign in with a passkey

On the sign-in screen, choose **Sign in with a passkey** (under **Continue with Apple** and **Continue with Google**), then unlock with your screen lock.

The button only appears when your browser or device supports passkeys.

## Manage your passkeys

Each passkey is listed in **Security** with its name and where it's stored, such as iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, Windows Hello, 1Password or a security key. From each row you can:

- **Rename** it (up to 40 characters).
- **Remove** it. You won't be able to sign in with that passkey any more. If it's the passkey you're signed in with right now, you'll need to sign in again.

You can have up to 10 passkeys. We email you each time a passkey is added or removed.

## Requirements

- **iPhone app:** iOS 16 or later.
- **Browser:** a browser that supports passkeys. If yours doesn't, you'll see "This browser can't use passkeys here. Sign in another way."

## Troubleshooting

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "No passkey was used. Try again, or sign in another way." | The prompt was closed or timed out. Try again, or use Apple, Google or your password. |
| "This browser can't use passkeys here." | Use another browser or device, or sign in another way. |
| "You can have up to 10 passkeys." | Remove one in **Security**, then add the new one. |

**Lost the device your passkey was on?** Sign in with Apple, Google or your password (you can use **Reset password**), then remove the old passkey in **Security**.
