# Dealer Edge + Charm + Pulse Workflow

> Dealer Edge structure first, Charm time pressure second, Pulse execution third - with live read template, playbooks, and daily routine.

Read the market before you trade it. This is the repeatable workflow from the member guide: **dealer positioning first**, **time-decay pressure second**, **live chart confirmation third**.

**Goal:** Understand the day type and the likely magnet **before** choosing direction and size.

**Session mantra:** Levels first. Direction second. Size last.

---

## The three-part workflow

### 1. Dealer Edge - establish structure (GEX)

Use the **GEX** shelf to locate:

- **Anchor** - primary magnet
- **Flip** - volatility regime boundary
- **GEX Rating (1-5)** - stable, mixed, or volatile day type
- **Defense lines** - secondary structure

[Dealer Edge Quick Start](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/dealeredge/quick-start) | [GEX Rating System](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/dealeredge/gex-rating-system)

### 2. Charm - measure time pressure

Switch to the **Charm** shelf. Mark the strongest Charm strike and read it **above or below** current price - not by color alone.

[Charm Lens](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/dealeredge/charm-lens)

### 3. Pulse - execute on the chart

Open **Pulse** for the same symbol. Confirm GEX levels and **Charm Drift** match what you wrote down. Add Flow, Darkpool, or BT Cloud only as **confirmation filters**.

## What members should leave with

| Output | Source |
|--------|--------|
| **Direction** | Price vs Anchor - which way the dealer magnet pulls |
| **Day type** | GEX Rating - stable (4-5), mixed (3), or volatile (1-2) |
| **Time pressure** | Charm concentration location vs price |
| **Execution** | Pulse overlays - plan entries around structure, not mid-range noise |

---

## Pulse overlay stack

### Recommended starting view

Turn on **GEX + Charm Drift first**. Add other modes only when they answer a specific confirmation question.

| Overlay | Role |
|---------|------|
| **GEX** | Anchor, Flip, and Defense levels from Dealer Edge |
| **Charm Drift** | Strongest time-decay drift level on the chart |
| **Gravity Path** | Forward arc toward the anchor (1D/2D/3D + Front/F+2/F+3) - [how to read](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/pulse/gravity-path) |
| **Net Flow** | Session call vs put premium - confirm or challenge dealer bias |
| **Dark Pool** | Institutional print levels as reaction zones |
| **BT Cloud** | EMA/SMA trend context over dealer structure |
| **Watchlist** | Live last price and change for indexes and key names |

Equity-only: Dark Pool, BT Cloud, GEX, Charm Drift, Net Flow. Futures roots on Pulse are price and session tools only - use [Futures Echo Map](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/futures/echo-map-guide) for the full dealer map.

### GEX render style

| Style | Best for | What you see |
|-------|----------|--------------|
| **Lines** | Fast intraday reads | Clean levels, minimal clutter |
| **Bubbles** | Magnitude comparison | Where gamma is stacked and how large each concentration is |
| **Channels** | Streaming and level trading | Soft bands that preserve readability |

### Session defaults (walkthrough baseline)

- **Session:** RTH for the regular-hours read
- **Timeframe:** 5-minute for structure vs noise balance
- **Auto:** Live to keep the chart on the current bar; use **Fit** after reviewing earlier price action

---

## Live read template

Say the full read **before** clicking:

```
Price is [above/below] Anchor [X]. Flip is [Y], and price is [above/below] it,
suggesting [stable / volatility expansion] conditions. Charm Drift is strongest
at [Z] and sits [above/below] current price, creating [upside/downside/overhead]
pressure. GEX and Charm [agree/disagree], so the setup is [high confluence / chop warning].
```

---

## Bullish pinning playbook

All three must align:

1. **Price is below the Anchor** - magnet above current price
2. **GEX Rating is 4 or 5** - positive gamma, pin-friendly environment
3. **Price is above the Flip** - stable side of the regime

With Charm **agreeing** (confluence at or toward the anchor), look for structured breakouts or buyable pullbacks with the Anchor as the target. Avoid random mid-range entries.

---

## Volatile breakdown (inverse)

- **Price above the Anchor** - bearish magnet down
- **GEX Rating 1-2** - negative gamma, amplified movement
- **Price below the Flip** - volatility can expand

Expect faster moves and sharper reversals. Reduce size, define risk before entry, and do not force a slow pinning thesis.

---

## Risk reminder

One strong read does not remove trade risk. Use position sizing, stops, and a daily loss limit appropriate for your account.

---

## Premarket routine (repeat daily)

### 60-second process

1. **Open Dealer Edge** - load SPY, SPX, QQQ, or your ticker
2. **Write down GEX structure** - Anchor, Flip, Defense, GEX Rating
3. **Switch to Charm** - strongest strike + above/below price + expected pressure
4. **Open Pulse** - same symbol; confirm levels match the chart
5. **Build the plan** - directional magnet, day type, trigger, invalidation, size **before** entry

### Daily read worksheet

| Field | Your notes |
|-------|------------|
| **Ticker** | |
| **Price vs Anchor** | Below / At / Above |
| **Anchor** | |
| **Flip** | |
| **GEX Rating** | 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 |
| **Charm Drift** | Strike + above/below price + expected pressure |
| **GEX + Charm** | Agree / Disagree |
| **Trade plan** | Trigger, target, invalidation, size |

---

## Quick reference card

### Dealer Edge - 60-second read

- **GEX lens:** Anchor (magnet) | Flip (vol regime) | Rating 1-5
- **Charm lens:** Read color **and** location relative to price

### Charm location rule

- Amber above → potential drift up
- Amber below → potential drift down
- Purple above → overhead pressure
- Purple below → potential downside pressure

### Price vs Anchor - direction

- Below → bullish magnet up
- At → neutral / premium-selling zone
- Above → bearish magnet down

### GEX Rating - volatility regime

- 4-5 → positive GEX | stable | slow | smooth
- 3 → neutral | range | mixed
- 1-2 → negative GEX | violent | fast | volatile

### Pulse - same story on the chart

- **Modes:** GEX + Charm Drift first; optional **Gravity Path** for forward arc context; Flow / Darkpool / BT Cloud as filters
- **Gravity Path:** 1D + Front to start; see [Gravity Path guide](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/pulse/gravity-path)
- **Style:** Lines | Bubbles | Channels
- **Session:** RTH | Timeframe: 5m | Auto: Live

---

## Final takeaway

**GEX** gives the magnet and day type. **Charm** maps time-decay concentration, and its position relative to price determines the directional read. **Pulse** puts both directly on the chart so you trade the levels instead of the noise.

Optional: add **[Gravity Path](https://tradeecho.com/docs/features/pulse/gravity-path)** when you want a forward arc toward the anchor (1D/2D/3D window + expiration lens) after GEX and Charm agree.
